Isabel Gurvitch

Future Healthcare Leader | Researcher | Social Impact Advocate Aspiring Healthcare Innovator and Student Researcher

I am a high school researcher and nonprofit co-founder dedicated to improving healthcare access and advancing medical research. My work combines scientific curiosity, leadership, and community impact — from cancer research and clinical volunteering to building a nonprofit that provides life-saving screenings to underserved women.

My goal is to pursue a career in medicine where scientific discovery and social responsibility meet.

About Me

I am currently a junior at American Heritage School, where I pursue a rigorous academic curriculum focused on science, research, and leadership.

My academic and extracurricular work centers on healthcare innovation, medical research, and community service. Over the past several years I have combined classroom learning with hands-on research projects, clinical volunteering, and nonprofit leadership.

I am especially interested in medical research and public health, particularly how scientific discovery can translate into real-world solutions for underserved communities.

Through my academic journey, I aim to develop the knowledge, leadership skills, and empathy necessary to become a physician who advances both patient care and medical innovation.

Social Impact

Co-Founder — MammogramMe (501(c)(3) Nonprofit)

MammogramMe is a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding access to breast cancer screening for women who cannot afford preventive healthcare.

Through strategic partnerships and fundraising initiatives, our team:

  • Partnered with Adonis Hospital in Ukraine

  • Helped provide 200+ mammograms for low-income women

  • Raised $20,000+ in funding

  • Secured media coverage on two Florida television news channels

As co-founder, I lead partnership development, fundraising strategy, and community outreach. This experience taught me how healthcare leadership can create meaningful change beyond the clinic.

Our initiative has also been recognized by major media outlets.
